Sno Flurries – Daily Gratitude
Every morning I wake up ten minutes before my alarm. I sigh and go back to bed only to hear the chirp from my phone nudging me from sleep. Of course I roll over and press snooze. Why? Why do I snooze when I was able to wake myself up ten minutes before my alarm? I think it is because I have the power, the freedom, to choose this action. I know…It is not a good habit.
On the other hand, when I wake up from snoozing once, twice, three times I do have a morning ritual, a good habit. I lay in bed with my eyes closed and give thanks for all the wonderful things in my life. I list everything and anything I can think of. I then proceed to visualize my day. I take my time visualizing with detail where I am, what I am doing and how I am feeling. If there are parts of my day that I am weary or stressed about I use this time to create the best scenario and outcome. I choose how I will respond and how I will feel. This is a wonderfully constructive practice for me because when the time approaches I am able to experience that moment with much more calmness and clarity.
I encourage you and your children to try this. Every morning list everything you are grateful for and imagine a positive day.
Try this at home or at school and let me know how it goes. If you like this suggestion please like it below or share it with others.
